Make Your Organization More Efficient With Automation

With Robotic Process Automation (RPA) organizations can bring immediate efficiency to business processes. Through the use of industry leading RPA tools, processes which involve old and new technologies alike can be automated quickly and cost-effectively.

Enterprises that have adopted RPA have experienced massive productivity enhancements. Through adopting RPA your organization can win big too.

Although an effective method of making an organization more efficient, there are some key principles to a successful RPA engagement. Following are some of those principles that we’ve learned through large-scale enterprise RPA engagements:

“The first rule of any technology used in a business is that automation applied to an efficient operation will magnify the efficiency. The second is that automation applied to an inefficient operation will magnify the inefficiency.” – Bill Gates

  1. Identify: Identify processes that make a good candidate for automation. Those that are too complex and have many permutations are not good candidates.
  2. Define: Define and document business process steps with a good level of detail. Once it’s clear what the bots are supposed to do, you’re off to a good start.
  3. Design: Good automation design is key for reuse and maintainability. With a modular, reusable design future bots will be more robust and quicker to implement.
  4. Build: A good quality build is essential for good execution and overall success. If the bots are stable, then you’re in good shape.

Ensuring your organization has built strong robotic operating principles for ongoing support of your bots is another critical element for long-term RPA success. We’ll cover this critical topic in a future post.
